How Cytd Got These Five Businesses Into the Answer

How Cytd Got These Five Businesses Into the Answer

Reed Harrington • Cytd

A look at what AI visibility work produced across our users.

Five Cytd users: what their numbers were, what we did, and what changed.

They span different industries and business models, from local service businesses to national platforms.

First, the Benchmark

What a typical Cytd user achieves in its first 90 days:

How we measure success for our clients: through your Cytd Score and the traffic coming from AI platforms. Both are measurable, which means there’s a concrete way to define how well Cytd is working rather than guesswork.

That’s the average across every account at the three month mark. The three month mark and beyond is typically when we see the best results in our clients’ AI visibility.

A closer look at our users results

Most started with low scores, which is typical before any deliberate AI visibility work happens. All five have since drastically improved their scores and metrics.

The sections below cover each account: what they came to us for, what the numbers did, and what drove the change. Each one also illustrates a different part of how this works, from the traffic data behind the scores to the specific work involved to how a strategy develops over time.

Lendersa

Background

Lendersa is a nationwide loan marketplace. Borrowers describe their scenario once, and the platform matches them against hundreds of lenders who then compete for the deal.

They came to Cytd with a specific problem. The company had been operating since 2016, held industry credentials, and had a substantial content library. By every traditional measure they were established. But when someone asked an AI assistant where to find a commercial loan, Lendersa wasn’t in the answer.

Results

What the Traffic Data Tells Us

Improved visibility turned into measurable traffic for Lendersa. Over the last 90 days, we drove 537 AI sessions from 292 AI users, 266 of whom were entirely new to the site.

These are people coming directly from AI platforms to Lendersa’s website. Someone asked ChatGPT, Claude, or Perplexity a question, Lendersa was in the answer, and they clicked through. That’s the full path from being cited to a visitor landing on the site.

Over the last 90 days:

Here is where the largest results came from:

The majority of Lendersa’s traffic is coming from ChatGPT, the dominant AI platform and where most people ask high-intent questions like the one driving this account.

Lendersa entered at 32 despite a decade of operating history. Established presence in traditional search didn’t carry over, because AI systems weigh different signals.

Top Performing Question

“What is the best platform to match my commercial loan scenario with hundreds of lenders?”

This question has achieved entity authority.

Entity authority means AI systems consistently recognize the business as a relevant answer to that question across every platform we track, rather than surfacing on just one.

Why it works: “best platform” asks for a company, not a definition. “Commercial loan scenario” describes a specific task. “Hundreds of lenders” describes exactly what Lendersa does.

The person asking isn’t researching commercial loans. They’re asking which company can help them get one.

Competitive Picture

Lendersa’s competitors do appear in AI answers, but mostly on broad terms like “hard money lenders” or “private money lenders.” Those questions get general information back, not company recommendations.

When competitors do show up, it’s usually as mentions rather than citations. A mention puts your name in the answer. A citation puts your name there with a link someone can actually click.

Colfax Strong

Background

Colfax Strong is a gym in Denver that specializes in Hyrox preparation and small-group coaching.

They didn’t want to compete against every gym in Denver, which is a fight a single location rarely wins. They wanted to be the obvious answer for people looking for their specific kind of training.

Top Performing Question

“Is there a gym near me in Denver that offers Hyrox prep and small-group coaching?”

Location plus specialty is the whole strategy here. Colfax Strong would struggle to win “best gyms in Denver.” But “Denver plus Hyrox prep plus small-group coaching” is a much smaller field, and one they can legitimately own.

What We Did

Here’s the work behind that number.

For Colfax Strong, we:

  • Created optimized blog articles targeting their tracked questions
  • Published supporting content across social platforms
  • Built backlinks
  • Published through Cytd’s private network
  • Submitted content to AI indexing platforms
  • Updated the technical files and site information AI systems use to understand a business
  • Tracked every question across the AI platforms
  • Kept optimizing based on what was actually landing

The technical piece is worth explaining, since it’s the least visible part. Those files help AI systems establish who the business is, what it does, who it serves, where it operates, and what topics it has authority around. Without them, the content exists but AI has to infer how it fits together.

Each piece works together. Content, authority, distribution, and technical signals all point at the same specific questions we want the business recognized for.

Competitive Picture

Colfax Strong’s competitors have 2 mentions total across the tracked question set.

Denver has no shortage of gyms. In the answers their shared customers are getting, though, the competition is largely absent.

Prodrome Sciences

Background

Prodrome Sciences makes plasmalogen precursor supplements for brain health.

Their category is technical enough that customers arrive already knowing what they want. Someone searching for plasmalogen precursors isn’t browsing. They’re looking to buy. Prodrome wanted to be the company AI named when that happened.

Results

The score movement translated into traffic. Over the measured period:

Each of these measures something slightly different, and together they show the full path.

402 AI sessions are visits that originated from an AI platform. Someone was in a conversation with an assistant, Prodrome came up, and they came to the site.

269 new AI users is the number worth paying attention to for a company in this position. These are first-time visitors, not returning customers checking back. For a specialized supplement in a technical category, reaching people who had never encountered the brand before is exactly what the visibility work is for.

196 citation visits are the subset that arrived through a direct citation, meaning AI linked to Prodrome as a source rather than just naming it. That’s roughly half of all AI sessions arriving through the strongest kind of signal.

For a company selling a product most people have never heard of, moving from near-invisible to nearly 270 new people arriving from AI conversations in a single period is the practical version of what a score going from 20 to 78 means.

Breaking Down the Score

Prodrome moved from 20 to 78, which is a useful place to explain what that number is actually made of.

The Cytd Score has three parts:

Visibility is how often you appear in AI answers across your tracked questions. Are you in the answer or not.

Authority is how strongly AI systems recognize you as a relevant, credible entity in your topic area. Do they trust you enough to point at you.

Coverage is how broadly you appear across your full question set.

Top Performing Question

“Where can I buy plasmalogen precursor supplements for brain health?”

This question has achieved entity authority.

“Where can I buy” leaves no ambiguity. There’s no version of that question where a definition is a good answer. Someone has to be named, and the product category is specific enough that only a company actually selling it qualifies.

Competitive Picture

Prodrome’s competitors aren’t appearing for these answers. In a technical category with a small number of players and precise terminology, very few businesses have built content around the questions their buyers are actually asking.

Lubbock Sports Medicine

Background

Lubbock Sports Medicine is a sports medicine practice in Lubbock, Texas.

Unlike most accounts, they came in with some AI presence already. The goal wasn’t starting from scratch, it was building on what existed until they became the practice AI recommends in their area.

How the Work Evolves Over Time

Growth like this doesn’t come from one big push. It comes from three phases that every account moves through, and Lubbock is a clean example of the progression.

Phase 1: Learn. We learn the business. What it does, who it serves, what makes it different, what services it offers, and which questions actually matter to its customers. While we’re learning, AI systems are learning too, getting clearer signals about the business than they had before.

Phase 2: Optimize. Now we have real performance data, so we use it. We optimize the questions, the content, the supporting signals, and the overall strategy based on what’s gaining traction, where the business is showing up, what competitors are doing, and where the gaps are.

Phase 3: Refine. We take everything learned in the first two phases and sharpen it. Strengthen what’s working, adjust what isn’t, expand the question set, grow coverage, and identify what to go after next.

Lubbock’s climb from 21 to 77 came out of that cycle. Early work established presence, optimization concentrated effort where it was paying off, and refinement widened the footprint from there.

Competitive Picture

Lubbock Sports Medicine outperforms its competitors in both citations and mentions across the tracked question set.

Leading on both signal types indicates coverage across the question set rather than an advantage on a few individual queries.

Agency Management Institute

Background

Agency Management Institute runs peer networks for marketing agency owners. Members meet regularly to share what’s working and compare their financials against other agencies.

It’s a narrow audience with a specific need, and AMI wanted to be found by exactly those people at exactly the moment they went looking.

Results

Best performing engine: Grok

Top Performing Question

“How to find a peer group for marketing agency owners to share best practices and financial benchmarks?”

This question has achieved entity authority.

Why Being Specific Beats Being Broad

This is a long, highly specific question. That’s not a limitation. It’s the reason it works.

Break it apart:

Who: marketing agency owners. Not business owners in general. Not executives. Not professionals.

What: a peer group. Not coaching, not a course, not a conference.

Why: best practices and financial benchmarks. The actual reasons someone joins.

Every piece of that maps onto what AMI does. A general business networking group would be a bad answer. An executive coaching firm would be a bad answer. The question describes AMI’s model so closely that very few organizations could honestly compete for it.

A business doesn’t need to be the answer to every question in its industry. It can be more valuable to be the recognized answer to a smaller number of highly relevant ones, because specific questions shrink the pool of businesses that could legitimately answer them.

Competitive Picture

AMI outperforms its competitors across the tracked question set. Peer networks for agency owners are specific enough that few organizations occupy the space, and fewer still have built content around what prospective members are actually asking.

See Where You Stand

Every account here started with a score in the twenties and a handful of citations. The work is the same regardless of industry: identify the specific questions customers are asking AI, then build the content, authority, and technical signals to become the answer.
